Jin Jun Mei
About Jin Jun Mei
This exceptional Jin Jun Mei black tea from Fujian, China, is made exclusively from young, tender tea buds and is renowned for its high quality. Simply inhaling the aroma of the dried leaves is an experience: candied, chocolaty, and fragrant. The dense infusion surprises with its amber colour, a bright orange hue, and the sweetest scents of hops, sandalwood, and a hint of orange. In taste, it presents a balanced blend of biscuit, spices, and a lingering floral sweetness. This tea can withstand multiple infusions, evolving with each cup: it becomes sweeter, reminiscent of caramel candies, and leaves a pleasant sense of well-being.
About Jin Jun Mei
Jin Jun Mei is one of the most exclusive black teas in the world. The name translates to "golden beautiful eyebrows" and refers to the fine, gold-black tea buds that make up this tea. Hand-picked and processed by experienced tea masters in the Fujian region, the unique flavour and elegant aroma make Jin Jun Mei a true delight for tea enthusiasts.
Cultivation
The famous village of Tongmu is considered the birthplace of black tea. Tea master Mr. Shi tends the beautiful buds at an altitude of 800 meters on the slopes of the Wu Yi Shan mountains, protected by wild trees and mist. Under these unique conditions, teas of excellent quality and outstanding flavour thrive. The leaves, harvested before the Qingming Festival, are carefully wilted, rolled, and dried into slender, gold-black spirals.
Effects
Jin Jun Mei is not only known for its exquisite taste but also for its health-promoting properties, which are valued in traditional Chinese medicine. This tea contains a high concentration of antioxidants such as polyphenols and flavonoids that can strengthen the immune system and contribute to overall health. Additionally, it is said to have a calming effect on the nerves, stimulate metabolism, and aid digestion. Some reports also suggest that Jin Jun Mei can improve skin health and slow down the aging process.
How to enjoy
Enjoy our Jin Jun Mei in the late morning or afternoon as a refined experience, slowly savouring the incredible complexity and inherent sweetness of this tea. If you must eat something with it, enjoy a few squares of milk chocolate, or toffee.
