About Yame
Yame, in North Fukuoka, Japan, is famous for its tea production, with terroir ideal for cultivating Matcha and also Gyokuro, fed by the rich mountain valleys and surrounding forests. There is a fine balance between modernity and tradition here when it comes to production, with Yame gathering fame for its teas.
Cultivation
This single origin Matcha is made from Tencha tea leaves of the first spring harvest (Yabukita variety). The leaves are shaded for three weeks before harvestto develop rich, green chlorophyll and amino acids, steamed upon processing to halt oxidation, and then milled into the finest powder with stone mills to become Matcha
Effects
This ultra-healthy beverage contains the nutritional equivalent of 10 cups of regular green tea and has been dubbed the 'ultimate superfood' by nutrition experts. The tea contains catechins, carotenes and vitamins A, B, C and E. To prepare, sift 1 AVANTCHA Matcha spoon of powder (1.5g) into bowl or press whisk down several times to break up and loosen the powder.
Add 10ml of room temperature water and whisk to a paste, then add 60ml hot water (75°C) and whisk briskly until a consistent, frothy layer is formed.
