About Organic Spring Mao Feng

The taste of this spring-picked Organic Mao Feng Chinese green tea is reminiscent of dried fruit, with a nutty aftertaste resulting from pan roasting. A very elegant and aromatic green tea that’s ideal for drinking throughout the morning or afternoon, with or without food.

About Anji Bai Cha

Mao Feng is a relatively young tea variety, existing in this form only since 1875. Its intense aroma regularly places this tea on the unofficial list of the top ten tea varieties from China, the home of tea for 5,000 years. Another variety of Mao Feng, known as the 'Criss Cross' variant, comes from Zhejiang near the Nine Dragons Mountain (Jiu Long Shan) and thrives at altitudes between 500 and 600 metres.

Cultivation

This Organic Mao Feng grows in the West Hunan Wuling Mountains of China at an altitude of 800 metres. The plants benefit from mineral-rich soils and a temperate climate. The mineral-rich soils and high altitude give this Mao Feng tea its crisp and sweet aroma. The leaves are hand-picked in mid-April just around the Qing Ming season and carefully processed to ensure the highest quality. Traditional processing includes gentle pan roasting of the tea leaves, which gives the tea its characteristic nutty aftertaste.

Effects

Green tea is invigorating and offers numerous health benefits. It soothes the stomach and intestines thanks to its tannins, has antibacterial properties that help prevent cavities, regulates blood pressure, boosts metabolism, and can strengthen the immune system.

How to enjoy

Enjoy this exquisite Mao Feng green tea pure to fully experience its complex aromas. It pairs wonderfully with light snacks like whole almonds or fresh berries and provides a refreshing accompaniment to savoury dishes like sushi or steamed vegetables.
