Xue Ya Snow Sprout
About Xue Ya Snow Sprout
Xue Ya Snow Sprout green tea is harvested in the spring. This refreshing and complex green tea has a fresh, sweet aroma reminiscent of seaweed and unripe fruits with fresh floral notes. The small, young leaves from the spring harvest are rolled and fully unfold in the infusion.
About Xue Ya
Xue Ya, meaning "Snow Sprout" in English, is a green tea grown in the highlands of the Fujian province in China. For its production, both the leaves and the buds of the tea plant are used. The name refers to the buds covered in white down. Since Xue Ya is not a protected term, it is used for different teas in various regions.
Cultivation
Xue Ya Snow Sprout tea is primarily cultivated in the Fan Jing Shan region of Guizhou, China. This region, at an elevation of about 1200 metres, offers ideal conditions for growing this tea. Xue Ya is technically a white tea but is processed using green tea methods. The tea is handcrafted entirely in China in the traditional way. Such high-quality teas are typically produced by tea farmers exclusively for the local Chinese market.
Effects
Green tea is invigorating and has numerous health benefits. Its tannins soothe the stomach and intestines, it has antibacterial properties that prevent tooth decay, and it regulates blood pressure.
How to enjoy
This tea pairs excellently with light, fruity desserts such as lemon tart or raspberry mousse and provides a refreshing contrast to savoury dishes like sushi or steamed vegetables. This tea does not become bitter even with longer steeping times and can be enjoyed at any time of the day due to its very low astringency.
