About Tea Buds
"Ya Bao" is an extraordinary variety within the Camellia family. This type does not use tea leaves but the buds of the wild tea bush. These buds can only be harvested once a year during spring. The name "Ya Bao," which translates to "elegant treasure," is aptly chosen. The flavour of the buds is extremely delicate, sweet-fresh, and reminiscent of pine needles. The aroma is floral and slightly spicy.
Cultivation
The wild Yunnan buds come from ancient tea trees growing in the high-altitude mountain regions of Yunnan. This region is known for its rich biodiversity and the quality of its teas. The buds are hand-picked and processed with care to preserve their unique aromas and health benefits.
Effects
Yunnan Wild Tea Buds are known for their high antioxidant content, which helps protect cells from oxidative stress and reduce inflammation. These antioxidants may lower the risk of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. Additionally, the tea contains L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxation and can improve mood, reduce anxiety, and enhance sleep quality. The light fermentation processes involved in the tea's production also positively impact digestion by stimulating the production of gastric acid, which aids in digestive health.
How to enjoy
Enjoy the full aroma of this exceptional tea in the quiet morning hours or early afternoon when the senses are receptive to subtle nuances. It pairs wonderfully with fresh, light foods such as a fruit salad with pears and apples, a light breakfast with croissants and honey, or a light afternoon snack like roasted almonds or a bowl of fresh berries. The tea remains mild and pleasant even with longer steeping times.
