About Organic Matcha Ceremonial Grade Yame - Seimei 30g

A stunning expression of Japanese tea mastery, this ceremonial grade organic Matcha is crafted from the rare Seimei cultivar, found in just 1% of tea fields across the country. Grown in the misty, mineral-rich hills of Yame, it reveals a soft, balanced flavour with gentle creaminess and refined umami. With its mellow, rounded character, Seimei is ideal for those seeking a more complex Matcha taste. Whether whisked in the traditional style or blended into premium contemporary creations like lattes and fine desserts.

About

Seimei is a rare, early-harvest cultivar, prized for its high quality and elegant taste. Cultivated in Yame, one of Japan’s most renowned tea-growing regions, this Matcha stands out for its luminous green colour, balanced umami, and smooth and creamy finish. Compared to deeper, more vegetal cultivars like Okumidori, Seimei offers a gentler, sweeter profile that appeals to both seasoned Matcha drinkers and curious newcomers alike.

Cultivation & Process

The Seimei tea plants are shaded for approximately 3 to 4 weeks prior to harvest. After harvesting, the leaves are steamed to prevent oxidation, then carefully dried and refined to eliminate stems and veins. At this point, the leaf is called tencha. It is then finely ground using traditional stone mills, a precise and delicate process that helps retain the tea’s natural flavour and high quality.

Effects

Matcha includes high levels of the amino acid L-theanine which promotes a state of calm alertness, reducing stress while enhancing mood and focus. Regular consumption may improve cognitive performance, concentration, memory, and support sustained energy levels without the crash.
